The primary objective of CIBIR through Fundación Rioja Salud is to improve health of people from La Rioja. To this end, this organization carries out several care works along with translational research, teaching and innovation activities. In the last years, taking care of the environment has also been included in this catalogue of activities. To accomplish these tasks, a management system has been implemented. This system has produced significant improvements in the environmental behavior of the organization and its workers. The results obtained in the last years showed a sustained decrease
in gas, electricity and water consumption, only broken by the effect of COVID-19 and its associated activities that were carried out in this building. An improvement in paper/plastic waste management has also been observed. In summary, the CIBIR provides to La Rioja society with a complementary, but
basic, response to the needs related to the environment that could also lead to a significant improvement in the quality of life (health) of people living in our Community.
